Flashback: Meeting with Patty Moise

In February 1990, before Ward Burton had his first start, Patty Moise started 10th and finishing 31st at Richmond raceway. Marla had a chat with Patty while Patty caught an eye on Elton Sawyer, in which she met at the auto show. Months later, Patty dated Elton, and they got married on Nov. 24. They were still married for 32 years and had no children.

Happy Birthday Jeff Burton

Marla called Jeff Burton this morning on his 56th birthday. In 1990, Marla first met Jeff and his brother Ward before she, Brent, Harris and Bill went to the concert. Jeff and Ward saw Marla in concert in the 70s, and Jeff and his girlfriend, now wife Kim saw Marla in concert way back in 1984. Now Jeff and Marla were friends since 33 years, and he works on NBC sports, part of USA network.

Flashback: Marla as a Background Vocalist

In 1985, Marla sang background vocals with Keith Fahnhorst on her brother Harold's song "Mornin' Ride." In 1990, Marla paired with Jimmy Fortune in a Shelly Walther song "Somebody Up There Likes Me." Paul Newman had a cameo of the music video as well. In 1993, Marla became a super vocalist for Larry Boone called "Watermelon Time in Georgia" from his last album "Get in Line."

Flashback: Faron's Solo Music Videos 1993

In 1993, Faron had his first album, and he had three singles, "Nobody Describes It," "Slow Nights" with cousin Kyle Medders, and "Hard to Love You." All of them were in the music videos. "Nobody Describes It" features Marla Murrah, the niece of a country songwriter, and was the model in this video. "Slow Nights" is the remake featuring Kyle. The Burton Brothers (Jeff and Ward) and Joe Bessey had a cameo. "Hard to Love You" also features Bessey playing guitar, and has in memory of Mel Street t-shirt.

Marla and Kyle in Nashville

Marla and Kyle were in Nashville two years in a row, first they didn't attend in 2021. Last year they went to Nashville and saw Chase Elliott winning the race. Now Ross Chastain finally has a guitar to play with, and Marla announces her son Faron's birthday on TV. Faron's team the Birmingham Stallions with Skip Holtz coaching, has beat the New Orleans Breakers again 47-22.

Flashback: Marla and Tracy's Duets

Days after Conway Twitty's passing in 1993, Marla and Tracy Leslie recorded the song for the first time, and Steve Dalrymple produced it. The song is called "I'm The Only Thing (I'll Hold Against You)." The song was co-written by Joe Diffie. The song was released in July 1993 the same day as Conway's version. Conway's version went to #62, but theirs isn't. No album was released for Marla. Diffie's version recorded six years later from "A Night to Remember" album.

Flashback: Faron's Friendship with Joe Bessey

Marla's son Faron had a good friend from Maine, Joe Bessey. He did shared a birthday with Faron on June 25. While fishing and boating, Joe's ex-girlfriend Linda saw them, telling Joe a false question, but she dumps him not to get married. Joe did married Nancy later on. Nancy likes Faron, too. Joe and Faron haven't seen each other since 2002.

Happy 41st birthday to Faron Reeves, a father of 14, and a grandfather of 3 with one on the way named Donovan. Most recently he was the tight end coach champion and helped out with Randy Moss' son Thaddeus.

Flashback: Harold in "Honeysuckle Rose"

In 1980, Harold Medders, Marla's brother was in the deleted scenes of "Honeysuckle Rose" with Willie Nelson. He played Vern Crowell, Bonnie's husband. Bonnie is played by Willie's real life sister Bobbie. Vern and fiddle player Johnny Gimble were hosts for the family reunion. Vern announces that Jamie (Joey Floyd) was having stage fright of playing guitar for the first time on stage after Amy Irving, who played Lily Ramsey sings "Crazy." Vern and Lily sings "After the Fire is Gone" before naked children went on to swim. Vern and Bonnie kisses after headed to the restroom while Willie sings "Til I Gain Control Again" with Emmylou Harris. As Jamie prayed, a phone rang for Viv (Dyan Cannon), it was Vern, in which Brag and Cotton were killed by a suspect Micah Fitzgerald.

Flashback: Marla's Affair With Tracy Leslie

In October 1992, Marla began an affair with married racer Tracy Leslie two months after the death of her friend Clifford Allison. It lasted ten months just days after Tracy won in Indianapolis for the only time. Marla and her husband Marty had been reconciled as did Tracy and his wife Patricia. As of 2014, Marty was killed of a car accident, and Tracy and Patricia are still married.

Happy 21st birthday to Jonah Whitley. He is the father of two sons, including Conway born on Apr. 24.

Flashback: Harold at Darlington

In September 1977, Harold, Marla's brother sings "Susan When She Tried" at the nightclub before the Southern 500. Four ladies dancing during the song were Shawn Weatherly, Melba June Wells, Bonnie Flowers and Betsy Shedd. Shawn tries to date Dick Brooks, who is divorced, but ended up dating Dwight Clark. David Pearson won the race.

Flashback: Marla's Got Guts Show

In 1976, Marla had her own game show "Marla's Got Guts" with 28 football team. 27 of the teams had right answers for making the obstacle course, and 26 of the teams had a clue. J.D., Harrison and Jeb in the "Same Boat?"

Marla's grandson J.D. paired with cousins Harrison and Jeb Burton in a fan based music video "All in the Same Boat." Harrison is eight years younger in Jeb. Harrison and J.D. played as brothers and their dad is played by Langdon Reid. Jeb's father is played by Wil Reid. Jeb is now divorced and has won at Talladega for the second time.

The Marla Show 1991-1992

In 1991, Marla has her own show same as the Statler Brothers. Theirs was on TNN, and she was on another channel. She had 19 episodes each in 2 seasons, that adds to 38. Her show was cancelled in 1993 without renewals. With and without her friends, Bill Romanowski, Brent Jones and Harris Barton, she performed several songs after introductions. Other regulars on the show over the course of its run included the Burton Brothers (Jeff and Ward), Tracy Leslie, Elton Sawyer and Patty Moise, who would lip sync some of the artists in every country and rock songs via music videos. Sawyer and Moise were replaced by Clifford Allison until he died of the practice crash in August 1992. Each episode also included major country music guest stars who performed their hits of the day, and the show always closed with a gospel song performed by Marla, the regulars and guests.

Happy Birthday Kyle

Happy 62nd birthday to Kyle Walter. Kyle is the father of four, 24 grandchildren with Maverick on the way, and two great-grandsons.

Marla on Larry Boone

Happy Birthday to Larry Boone, 67. He retired as a songwriter and singer since after 2006. He wrote two songs with Marla, "As Long As I'm With You Tonight" by MMQ, and a fancy duet "For All My Dreams."

J.D. to Played Lonnie In New Movie

Marla's grandson J.D. decided to play young Lonnie Wilson in a new movie called "The Class of '57." Lonnie is one of the seniors from 1956-57. Based on the song by the Statler Brothers which was written by the Reid brothers, Harold and Don. Real life is Harold's class. Executive producer will be Don.

Happy 7th birthday to Maeve Walter. She will be a big sister of Maverick Kent Walter.

Buck Owens, Roy Clark, Elvin Le Chang and Lori Medders were the co-hosts for the only time in their 15th anniversary special. Marla and Kyle in St. Louis

On Marla's 65th birthday, Marla and Kyle went to St. Louis and meets two of three Wallace brothers, Rusty and Kenny. Kyle Busch was the winner. Austin and Whitney Dillon had their second child and first daughter Blaize at the end of May.

Marla picks out with losing guys who did not win the Super Bowl, Jim Marshall, Joe Kapp, Bud Grant, Dan Fouts, Hank Bauer, Kellen Winslow, Boomer Esiason, Sam Wyche, Tim Krumrie, Marv Levy, Jim Kelly, Darryl Talley, Dennis Green, Cris Carter, and John Randle. Marla teaches these guys a real lesson, Joe came along and Marla said, "I don't think you get it, Kapp, I wouldn't give Mick Tingelhoff a real lesson here." Joe said, "F*** you," then she slaps him, she put her foot on his back, and Tim halted. Marla said, "Well, Krumrie, you think I'm possible to move on." Wong and Conrad Finishes Film of NASCAR Style

Micaela Wong and Maura Conrad finally finishes the film about NASCAR's 75th anniversary. The movie will be in theaters on December 22. Chase Elliott finally had his comeback after originally scheduled to be in this movie because of his snowmobile accident. This movie will be in 3 and the half hours same as Gone with the Wind.
