Full Movie: Marla and the Cowboys (1979)

The movie Marla and the Cowboys are synonymous as she enters the Dallas place as all of the Cowboys players sang a song called "Miss Marla" written by her good friend Steve Dalrymple. At the convenience store, Rick Lewis plays the owner, and D.D. Lewis was Rick's cousin.

Andy Frederick was talking to Pat Donovan about looking for girls, and several 18-year-old ladies chased Andy and they kissed him. Danny White and Roger Staubach are throwing the ball together as Marla told them to have fun with her nieces and nephews. Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Randy White, Harvey Martin and Thomas Henderson are playing poker. Tony Dorsett and Robert Newhouse are having their moves as Marla's nephew Todd showed up.

Marla was playing piano while Bob Breunig showed up. Marla told him about Waylon, Willie and Billy "Crash" Craddock. Marla was singing with Bob called "All I Have." Her solo version is from her album. Pat, Rayfield Wright, Jim Cooper, Tom Rafferty and Herbert Scott were watching the Rangers baseball game.

D.D., John Fitzgerald and Larry Cole were playing poker as Rick heard the song called "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple. D.D. turns off the record, and Marla was there. Marla told Rick to change to country music, but not rock.

Marla was with Jethro Pugh, Drew Pearson and Billy Joe DuPree at her house playing pool. Rafael Septien was with Marla after that, and he told her he was a bad kicker for the Rams with Joe Namath. Charlie Waters and Cliff Harris were watching a movie by Marilyn Monroe as she died when they were 14.

That night, Marla was with five "roommates," Cliff, Pat, Tom, D.D. and Larry. Scott Laidlaw saw Rick singing "Nadine," however his voice was dubbed by Freddy Weller. The next morning, Pat gets up while Marla is cooking breakfast while hearing "Jesus You're the Man" by the Oak Ridge Boys. Tom also got up and Marla told him about the group he hasn't heard anything. Pat and Marla had a slight conversation.

At the football field, Marla's nephew Tracy saw the cowboys practicing as Tracy laughed at Too Tall. He grabs Tracy, and Marla tells him to let go. D.D. was with Marla's niece Leslie. Marla was asking Randy Hughes a little lesson after playing around with Charlie and Cliff. John was with Marla's other niece Melba.

Larry and Marla had a little chat while Scott was with Rick and Jackie Smith arrived. Larry and Marla were still at the beach, singing a song called "If There Was Love." Jethro was talking to Rick as the Cowboys were walking back and forth. Marla had the recent super bowl program with Mel Renfro and Ralph Neely playing their last start. The O-linemen were watching the Rangers game and had Maury Wills' son Bump. John and Marla had a wonderful conversation as they were dancing into the song called "Easy" by the Oak Ridge Boys.

Rick was with the rookies Larry Bethea, Alois Blackwell, Dennis Thurman, Robert Steele and Tom Randall. Rafferty and Pat were playing poker while hearing Johnny Bush's "Whiskey River" as Marla showed John to play a guitar. Danny and Roger were still throwing the ball as Rick asked them about it. Tony and Newhouse were still on it. That night, John and Marla sang a love song called "One More Heart." Her solo version was also in that same album. Charlie and Cliff arrived after the song was over.

Today's the big day for Marla and the boys, however she has a slight depression. Pat was telling Marla about the important lesson. Marla arrived at her own house, and had pictures of several Cowboys players who were retired. Bruce Huther and Mike Hegman had a plastic baseball bat and a plastic ball. Never broke the window as Marla opened it, all of the Cowboys guys saw her singing "The Way I Am," and Cliff got the rose for her. Scott decided to cheer for Marla, and the old man told them to keep it down.

Still at the convenience store, Marla and the Cowboys were visiting coach Tom Landry, and they were ready to roll one more time with the reprise song "Miss Marla." Cliff had the window shade down and he kissed Marla at the end.

Here's the reference:
Rick Lewis died in a car accident on Sept. 6, 1989, a month after his 40th birthday. D.D. had a commercial about drinking and driving about Rick the next year. The Simpsons had two episodes which had parodies. One of them is "22 Short Films About Springfield" in which the tall man chases Nelson Muntz and he grabs him. The last is "Weekend at Burnsie's" which involves Homer's marijuana with the same song "Smoke on the Water."
