Flashback: Marla Collapsed During Blaster Episode

In September 1993, during "Flirting with the Blaster" taping episode, Marla collapsed at the auto shop, and spent 14 days in coma at the hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. Her best friend Maverine Michael has six days at the hospital for her coma after Jim Marshall's birthday party in 1979. Tracy Leslie, Robert Pressley, Joe Bessey, Ricky Craven and the Burton Brothers (Jeff and Ward) were attended at the hospital. Tracy sang the gospel song as he was holding Marla's hand. On Sept. 19, as Marla survived from coma, she resumed acting the next day until the Rougemont race won by Hermie Sadler.

Robert: Marla.
Tom: Marla, what's wrong?
Joe B.: Marla, speak to me, Marla, speak to me.
Jeff: What's wrong with Marla?
Ward: Jeff, she just got collapsed.
Tracy: Hey, Marla, speak to me. (moves Marla's face)
Chuck: Something happened to Marla?
Tracy: Marla, I want your eyes open.
Joe B.: Come on, Marla, get up.
Tracy: I want to see your eyes! Joe, use a CPR for Marla. Robert, call 911.
Robert: I'm on it Tracy.
(Joe B. failed to make it as Robert called 911)
Joe B.: Tracy, Marla's not breathing. Let me try again.

Seconds later...
Ward: Tracy, I'm next to do the CPR.
(Ward still does not make it before the ambulance gets here)
Ward: Ricky, I don't think she's going to make it.
Ricky: I'm not sure, Ward, will have to wait and see.

As the video tape shows Tracy carrying Marla before she goes to the hospital.
Joe N.: Looks like she's out of breath.
Hermie: I don't know about it Joe.
Steve: Me neither guys.

The Marla Comedy Show 1993-1998

The Marla Comedy Show is a sitcom show that ran from 1993-1998. It premiered in Nov. 20, two months before the Statler Brothers Show had the third season. Marla played Marla Boone, a hard working mother of Reid (Reid Jones) and Cheyenne (Cheyenne Langston), and a wife of Tracy, who was played by Tracy Leslie. Jeff and Ward Burton played Marla's brothers from the first season. Joe Bessey, who was a main and recurring member, Chuck Bown, Rodney Combs and Elton Sawyer played as Tracy's brothers. Patty Moise is Elton's wife same as real life in the last three seasons. Hermie Sadler played as a neighbor who is a single father of a Down Syndrome boy as is Tim Fedewa, Dennis Setzer, and Jason Keller. Joe Diffie's son Tyler played Hermie's son Brandon.
