Flashback: Shelly at Talladega 1990
On May 4, 1990, Shelly Walther performed at Talladega, Alabama with hundreds of people cheering for her. The VHS was released that December. Phil Barkdoll, who passed away exactly a week before his birthday last week, was the announcer of the show. Tracy Leslie had a cameo of singing with Shelly, and he wrote a song called "With All of My Heart." Chris Gehrke, Shelly's then boyfriend was in attendance a year before he died of injuries from the Talladega ARCA accident. The last song was the haunting gospel medley, and made Tracy and other drivers cheer for her. Twenty three days later, Tracy has a sponsor of Shelly at the Charlotte race, and won by Rusty Wallace. Tracy said that he was blessed to have his favorite singer Shelly back on track.
