Cleta's 1993 Book

In 1993, Cleta, Marla's sister-in-law wrote a book about the Busch racing stars after Joe Nemechek's championship. 16 drivers in 15 chapters were on the spot, but the 16th driver Clifford Allison was in this book.

Joe is married to Andrea at the time of this book. Cleta claims that Joe is twenty days younger than Mark Chesnutt, but he must've looked like him. Joe and Mark were pictured with Shelly Walther.

Bobby Labonte is pictured with his dad Bob and brother Terry.

Todd Bodine is pictured with his brothers Geoff and Brett.

Jeff Gordon was interviewed by Shelly Walther in the unknown channel. Shelly is four months younger than Jeff. Cleta was taking a picture of Jeff and Richard Petty shaking hands before Richard's final start.

Brad Daugherty carries Cleta after she interviewed Robert Pressley in 1989 while he had his first win in Rougemont.

Butch Miller is pictured with Cleta's second son Jeremy.

Cleta interviewed Jeff Burton in 1989, and the wedding picture of he and Kim. Ward, Jeff's brother was with Marla Medders wearing a Porky Lee t-shirt. Ward shows Shelly Walther a sticker of it's a boy, and a decal in memory of Clifford Allison. The brothers' past times were hunting, they usually mims the lyrics of the country songs in the Marla Variety Show.

Tommy Houston is pictured with his three sons, and the other with his wife Martha. He is also pictured with his niece Teresa, her husband Dale Earnhardt and their daughter Taylor.

Chuck Bown is pictured with his wife Debbie, his brother Jim and his girlfriend Monette Eller. Like the song "Older Women" by Ronnie McDowell did not know about the match for the brothers. Chuck is also pictured with his father-in-law Hershel McGriff. Shannon Eller, Monette's daughter is a scorer, and she's 17. Her sister Sheena is at Idaho college. Chuck's before and after shave was pictured.

Steve Grissom was with his buddies in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. One of the buddies wears the Lee Roy Jordan jersey.

Joyce Peck was taking a photo of Tom holding his second son Logan while Cleta was there. Another picture where he is interviewed with Shelly Walther.

Ricky Craven and Joe Bessey were the two Maine stars where Cleta was taking a picture in Nazareth.

Tracy Leslie is pictured with his brother Lee while Lee is a crew chief for Ben Hess. A huge fan Marla Medders with Tracy at Daytona Beach.

Clifford Allison is pictured with his father Bobby and brother Davey.

Flashback: Marla and the Statlers' Movies Clips

In 1978, during her "Sinners and Saints" special. Marla had four movie clips in which the Statler Brothers had their favorites. First, in "It's a Wonderful Life," Harold Reid played George, Marla played Mary and Marla's niece Leslie played Zuzu. Lew DeWitt as Clarence, Phil Balsley as Billy, and Don Reid as Henry. In "Giant," Phil played Bick, Marla played Leslie, Harold as Jett, Don as Bawley, and Lew as a friend. In "The Music Man" Don played Harold Hill, Harold as Marcellus, Marla as Marian, and Phil and Lew as church goers. And "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," Marla played nurse Ratched, Lew as Cheswick, Phil as Taber, Don as Harding and Harold as Bancini. Marla's big brother Harold Medders played Randall McMurphy.
