The Marla Comedy Show 1993-1998

The Marla Comedy Show is a sitcom show that ran from 1993-1998. It premiered in Nov. 20, two months before the Statler Brothers Show had the third season. Marla played Marla Boone, a hard working mother of Reid (Reid Jones) and Cheyenne (Cheyenne Langston), and a wife of Tracy, who was played by Tracy Leslie. Jeff and Ward Burton played Marla's brothers from the first season. Joe Bessey, who was a main and recurring member, Chuck Bown, Rodney Combs and Elton Sawyer played as Tracy's brothers. Patty Moise is Elton's wife same as real life in the last three seasons. Hermie Sadler played as a neighbor who is a single father of a Down Syndrome boy as is Tim Fedewa, Dennis Setzer, and Jason Keller. Joe Diffie's son Tyler played Hermie's son Brandon. Robert Pressley, Ricky Craven, Randy LaJoie, Jeff Fuller, Chad Little, Mike McLaughlin, Johnny Benson Jr. and Steve Grissom plays as Tracy's auto workers at his own store. Ronna Reeves is Hermie's character wife from the last two seasons.

The first season has 12 episodes, the second season has 13, the third season has 18, and the last season has 23. The first three seasons were good before having a hiatus in 1996, and the last season has flopped. The show was cancelled and so is the Statlers show in 1998.

Flashback: Marla and the Statlers' Movies Clips

In 1978, during her "Sinners and Saints" special. Marla had four movie clips in which the Statler Brothers had their favorites. First, in "It's a Wonderful Life," Harold Reid played George, Marla played Mary and Marla's niece Leslie played Zuzu. Lew DeWitt as Clarence, Phil Balsley as Billy, and Don Reid as Henry. In "Giant," Phil played Bick, Marla played Leslie, Harold as Jett, Don as Bawley, and Lew as a friend. In "The Music Man" Don played Harold Hill, Harold as Marcellus, Marla as Marian, and Phil and Lew as church goers. And "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," Marla played nurse Ratched, Lew as Cheswick, Phil as Taber, Don as Harding and Harold as Bancini. Marla's big brother Harold Medders played Randall McMurphy.
