Marla picks out with losing guys who did not win the Super Bowl, Jim Marshall, Joe Kapp, Bud Grant, Dan Fouts, Hank Bauer, Kellen Winslow, Boomer Esiason, Sam Wyche, Tim Krumrie, Marv Levy, Jim Kelly, Darryl Talley, Dennis Green, Cris Carter, and John Randle.
Marla teaches these guys a real lesson, Joe came along and Marla said, "I don't think you get it, Kapp, I wouldn't give Mick Tingelhoff a real lesson here." Joe said, "F*** you," then she slaps him, she put her foot on his back, and Tim halted. Marla said, "Well, Krumrie, you think I'm possible to move on." Tim told Marla about the wages, as Marla said, "All right you cookie monster boy." Joe said as he got up, "Don't be calling me no Cookie."
At the thrift store, Marla was looking for jerseys for her daughter-in-law's brother Reid, who also played himself. Marla finds the Art Still jersey. Dan looks over and speaks to Marla.
Hank was reading the newspaper about Jonestown and Dan and Marla talks about the jersey and then she's headed to the grocery store. After the cashier woman said about the total, Darryl pokes into Marla's shoulder, asking for a raise, the cashier woman remembers Darryl, but her girl cousin likes him.
Marla went back to the bar, tells Jim K. and Marv about Cecil the dog, she puts Cecil's dog food in the cabinet and Darryl said, "Knock Knock." Marla said, "Who's there." Darryl said, "Marv." Marla said, "Marv who?" Darryl said, "Marv said I could give you a raise." Marla said, "That's not what you meant, like this. Knock knock." Darryl said, "Who's there?" Marla said, "Sensuous." Darryl said, "Sensuous who?" Marla said, "Sensuous guys won't listen to me anymore." Darryl said, "Hey, I'm not southern, stupid."
Marla ran outside and saw Cris, Dennis and John. John said, "Whoa, Marla, you can't go anywhere." Marla said, "Darryl, get inside." John said, "Listen, I went to Texas A&I, same as Gene Upshaw and Darrell Green, never drafted." Marla said, "Yeah, and Mick Tingelhoff's not drafted too."
Marla was watching a reel in which the face belongs to Bill Brown, whom Jim M. said it correctly. Bud was sweeping the floor as Marla said, "Hurry up! What do you think I'm paying you for?" Bud said, "You don't pay me. We don't even exist. We're just a clever visual metaphor used to personify the abstract concept of thought." Marla said, "One more crack like that and you're out of here!" Bud said, "No, please! I got my wife and six kids!"
An hour later, Marla was watching the interview in 1981 by Len Dawson. A news woman also said that Fred Dean is traded to San Francisco. Dan said, "Stop the clip."
The next morning, John was sleeping and dreaming that he was in New York City. An Asian woman with the Derrick Deese jersey looks over, and thousands of more people came along. A horn like a cuss word in which Meat Loaf, who dubbed John's part and said "You." John wakes up and Marla said, "You ain't in New York City, haven't you." John said, "No."
Six white players went on to hear Meat Loaf's story and five black players were outside picking up trash to the folks.
Marla was watching a Super Bowl reel and found Mick Tingelhoff's number. Marla said, "I wish I could dream of him since I was 12." Bud looks at Marla, thinking that she's lonesome. Marla said, "Are you giving up on me or not?" Bud sighs and said, "Not yet." Marla told Bud about the only feud between he and Marv in December 1981. Marv and Bud said about Walter Payton's brother Eddie.
Tim got a letter from Lew Tubby, Stanley Wilson's college mate of Oklahoma. Marla reads a letter about Stanley's third use and banned for life.
Later that night, Jim K. had a picture of his second child, Hunter. He was born on his father's birthday and dies 8 years later. Marla regrets about Hunter's passing, but his two sisters were his supporters. All of the sudden the voice was heard outside and Marla said, "Jim, take off the hat," and walked outside, it was Whitney Houston singing the National Anthem. Marla and all of the guys were there as Reid Brooks and Lew Tubby were there hearing that stuff and the kids are waving flags and other things. The fireworks had been cracking during the song was over. Reid and Lew went over to chat with Marla one more time, give a big hug, and finally hugs 15 players and coaches. Marv said to Marla, "Is this mean that we were having a good time." Marla said, "Yes, sir, I'm ready." The guys cheered and John said, "Yeah, who wants to hear Meat Loaf's music?" Marla said, "What did you just say?" John said, "Should I start running now?"
Green died in 2016, Wyche in 2020, and Kapp and Grant in 2023.
