Marla on Iowa State Guys

Marla only met three Iowa State college men that ran 10 long years with one team.

At the new Texas stadium on Oct. 24, 1971, Marla met Don Webb, who is in his last year with the Patriots, and this is the only time they talk about Duane Thomas' trade.

Thirteen months later on Nov. 5, 1972, Marla met Joe Beauchamp, and this is the only time they talk. Marla also talked to coach Harland Svare about sharing a birthday and same birthplace as Larry Cole. Beauchamp died in 2020.

In October 1974, Marla met Matt Blair as Maverine was grounded for not seeing Carl Eller for two years. Maverine has a sign that said whites only at the hotel room. The next morning while making breakfast, Matt had his camera and takes a picture of Marla eating bacon and eggs. One day before Marla's daughter's first birthday, she last saw him while meeting with Maverine. Matt was also a photographer at Marla's concert two days before. Matt died months after Beauchamp.
