Marla on Iowa College Guys

Although Marla was born in Ames, Iowa after her six brothers were born in that same state. Some legendary Iowa guys are everywhere.

First, Marla met Emlen Tunnell in 1973 for a concert with her brothers, and he died two years later. His 79 interceptions may stay put until 1979.

In 1977, Marla was at the concert in Wisconsin as Joe Laws and his wife Geraldine saw her. They briefly talked for 10 minutes. Joe died in 1979.

A day after Christmas 1970, Marla met Alex Karras in his very last game as the Lions lost to the Cowboys 0-5. Marla said it's the worst record ever had. In 1978, Marla reunited with Alex in Aspen, Colorado at her concert as his Lions teammate Jim Gibbons saw them as well. Alex died in 2012, and Jim died four years later.

In October 1970, Marla usually met Paul Krause and Wally Hilgenberg for a meeting before attending a game. Marla became friends with those two until Wally's passing four days after his 66th birthday in 2008. In November 1981, Marla met Wally's nephew Jay as Jay played with Alan Page, who played with Wally way back. On Sept. 16, 1984, Marla met Jay's younger brother Joel one week after her daughter was born.

In November 1983, Marla met Reggie Roby, and last saw him on Thanksgiving day 1997 until he died in 2005. Also in November 1983, Marla met Mark Bortz and last saw him in December 1991 as he was injured.

In November 1985, Marla met John Alt, who was born in Germany. While arm wrestling, Marla told John and Bubba Paris about their rare feud. After Keith Fahnhorst and Dave Lutz arm wrestled, Marla told Dave about the death of Keith's mom that same year, and Dave's dad a year before. After the game was over, Marla was forced to go to Seattle for visiting Kramer Largent, Steve's youngest son who had spina bifida. Marla said no, she is ready for the country music show after getting practiced. She last saw John was on Thanksgiving day 1994.

On Larry Cole's 30th birthday 1976, Marla met Joe Devlin, and last saw him in December 1989.

In October 1983, Marla met Andre Tippett, and became friends since his hall of fame in 2008.

In December 2006, Marla met Jonathan Babineaux, and last saw him in September 2015 as Marla's granddaughter TaRanda was the huge Matt Ryan fan.

On Dec. 20, 2008, Marla met Marshal Yanda one week after her daughter got married to her first husband, and last saw him in November 2016.

In January 2002, Marla met Jared DeVries, and last saw him in December 2007.

In October 2007, Marla met Chad Greenway, and last saw him on Dec. 1, 2016. Chad became friends with Maverine Michael, Marla's best friend.

Marla became friends with John Niland since the very beginning, had an affair after going through some test in 1973, and became friends again ever since.
