Flashback: June 2018

On June 4, 2018, Marla turned 60 as Dwight Clark passed away of ALS. Eight days later, her other friend Keith Fahnhorst passed away. Marla was shocking about the loss of her friends.

Twin Cities newspaper staff wrote about Keith's funeral, it went like this:

Among those in attendance at Our Lady of Grace in Edina on Thursday for the funeral of Keith Fahnhorst was Pro Football Hall of Fame QB Joe Montana, who was a San Francisco 49ers two-time Super Bowl champion teammate of the former Gophers star.

Another 49ers teammate, linebacker Keena Turner, gave a moving eulogy for Fahnhorst, the former All-Big Ten tight end who became a Pro Bowl offensive tackle and died at age 66. Turner said nobody on the 49ers was more respected and beloved than Fahnhorst.

Other 49ers teammates in attendance included Keith’s brother, Jim, the ex-Gophers linebacker who won three Super Bowls with the 49ers; Bubba Paris, the former Michigan offensive lineman, and Guy McIntyre, the offensive lineman from Georgia.

More than four dozen former Gophers notables, including Bob Stein, Bob Morgan, George Adzick, Adam Kelly and Jim Brunzell, lined the aisles when Keith was wheeled to the altar of the church.

Allison Yim, Maverine's friend and an anchor of the sports news wrote this:

Keena Turner and country music singer Marla Medders had the eulogy at Keith Fahnhorst's funeral just yesterday. Marla also sing "Amazing Grace" after she eulogize.

After Keith's funeral, Marla and Maverine went to Mick Tingelhoff's house for making a reservation.
